REIMAGINED BO PEEP FT. CIDER
One of the many black and white movies I grew up watching was Babes In Toyland — a Laurel and Hardy 1934 production where the two find themselves at the cross section of your favorite fairytales — everything from the Old Woman Who Lives in a Shoe to Little Bo Peep. It’s a crazy, fun film that’s enjoyable to watch over and over again (it also randomly is a musical, though I can’t recall Laurel or Hardy even singing?), and it appears that Little Bo Peep’s look was on my mind when I put together this look a few weeks ago over Easter. She’s decked out in frills and floral in the movie, but I wanted to modernize the look with a more low-key approach.
I started with 1/2 of a brown rosette set from Amazon Fashion, and paired it with a white lacey skirt from Shop Cider (similar here). I then added some knee-high white boots, rhinestone stockings, and a light brown fringe faux leather jacket to give it a bit of an updated, playful spin. I finished off the look with a Zigzag headband, Ray-Bans, and my Prada Tessuto. Little Bo Peep, all grown up!
Leaving you with a some Shakespeare sagacity from a similar, silly play:
“Foolery, sir, does walk about the orb like the sun, it shines everywhere.”
