OCTOBER FAVORITES

October, you were so good to me! I’m also biased, because it’s my second favorite month of the year. I started some new exciting work this month, got to go apple/pumpkin picking, popped by a lot of cool events and celebrated Lindsey’s 🦋 heavenly 30th birthday 🦋. I also got to dress up for Halloween (always my favorite) and have been enjoying allllll the fall things. I made some fun fashion purchases this month (see below) and have gotten to explore some new (and old) neighborhoods around NYC. This month was probably my favorite out of the whole year so far (or second favorite, after my bday!) Without further ado, here are some of the buys and things I’ve been loving month.

fashion

Amazon Fashion Low Rise Leopard JeansI just had to hop on the leopard jeans trend this fall with this cutie pair from Amazon I got for $42. I love how leopard can sometimes be a neutral in itself and pair well with anything— from a black tee to a white satin blouse. Pop on a leather jacket or trench and you’re g2g.

Studded Kitten Heel Mules — I’ve been eyeing these mules for a while and finally pulled the trigger. They’re quite comfy (although I know they don’t totally look it), look so cute paired with jeans or can even complement a maxi skirt nicely.

ACCESSORIES

Aldo Chrome Bag Probably my second best TJ Maxx find of the year (the first would be a Y2K inspired brown dress I wore to a wedding back in July that I bought day of, lol), I’m loving this chrome bag. It’s super roomy so I can easily stuff all my belongings in there (camera, battery, wires, wallet, makeup, the list goes on), and the buckle detail (plus the obvious reflective finish) makes it pretty interesting to the eye.

Zafino Poppy Earring * gifted * — I’ve found my new jewelry obsession and its art deco-inspired earrings. These cute layered double hoops fit the bill and instantly add elegance to any look— I wore them to a wedding and they even got me some compliments!

HOME DECOR

Bedazzles Skeleton Hand — OMG, of course, I’m going to include one of my favorite Halloween decorations as one of my faves for the month. I actually DIYed this skeleton hand back in 2018, and although I’ve definitely lost a couple of pearls and rhinestones over the years, it never fails to look cute. Want to recreate it yourself? Pick up a skeleton hand from Michael’s or Amazon and hot glue on some gems. Voila!

Leaving you with a spooky quote as we close out this spooky, fun month!

“Tis now the very witching time of night, When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out Contagion to this world”

[Hamlet 3.2]

Cheers, xx A. Martine

Of course I won’t leave you hanging without some pics of our Halloween look this year! We went as a vintage Joker and Harley Quinn— AKA, my interpretation of the two. Scroll right to browse and see the reference photo I used!
