AUGUST FAVORITES
This past August was full of good food, drinks + company. It also made me realize there’s only four more months in 2022 which is just about insane. We finally finished up some decor in the apartment (scroll down to read on!) and got the chance to visit Newport, RI for the first time for a friends’ wedding. Without further ado, I’ll be breaking down what I wore, plus more August faves and where I got all the new apartment goods.
FASHION
Amazon Fashion Zara Rhinestone Crop Top Dupe — This iconic rhinestone top has been making its rounds on Instagram influencer profiles everywhere, so I was excited to find this dupe on Amazon for a little bit less (although it’s definitely on sale now for half the price rn). It adds a little glitz into your look without being over the top, and I can’t wait to pair it with some oversized jeans and boots this fall.
Shop Cider Velvet Ruched Tassel Mini Dress — I picked up this dress for the wedding from Cider — and although it’s sold out (wah), I definitely recommend checking out the sale section for when you’re in need of a last-minute evening look. Their velvetine dresses are pretty adorable and you’re sure to find something you’d love. I paired this with strappy patent leather brown sandals and a tortoise-shell and white leather JW Pei purse to tie it all together.
Astrid & Miyu Gold Open Link Chain Necklace * gifted *— Astrid and Miyu is pretty much one of the cutest jewlery lines out there if you’re looking for stackable pieces — especially necklaces. I was recently gifted this chain link necklace through their Fall Press Preview and I’m totally obsessed — it’s easy to stack with a bunch of gold chokers or pendants — not to mention it looks stunning on its own.
home decor
Amazon Home Baroque Style Picture Frames — After four months of living in our new apartment, I can finally say this wall is complete. I wanted something old school but still kind of modern to fit the wall, and settled on these baroque frames. Placing them next to each other in a gallery, I figured, might make it a little more unique/ updated, and of course, eye-catching.
Vintage Architecture Prints of the Grande Commande — Now I have to talk about what’s IN the frames! I found these vintage prints of the Grande Commande: The Four Seasons. They’re sketches of a set of four statues in Palace of Versailles: Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter. Not only is it a nod to my love for all things ancient Roman-style art, but I think it’s a nice nod to our shared love for Paris.
Bamboo Fan Decor from Craft by Ken on Etsy — One of the things I always wanted in a future bedroom has been a headboard (kind of ridiculous, I know). But living in NYC where space is limited, it can be difficult to get a bed frame that has storage underneath and said coveted headboard. That’s why I looked for an alternative headboard, and landed on this bamboo fan idea. It takes up the space that a headboard would and adds a nice amount of texture to the room. After a USPS mishap, I finally got my hands on it and couldn’t be more pleased with the way it looks.
