STORYBOOK FEAT. AMAZON FASHION
This past month we got to visit Quebec City, Canada — and let me tell you, it’s straight out of a storybook. Not only are the streets tiny and European-esque, the buildings (including the Chateau Frontenac) are clad in flying buttresses, stain glass and my favorite: two-panel windows and Juliet balconies. The very atmosphere had me wanting to put on a corseted dress with a ballroom hoop and glide around the streets.
Although I couldn’t exactly satisfy that dream (or time travel?), I wanted to put together a middle-aged inspired look with a modern twist, and I landed on this for our last night there. This Amazon Fashion corset has become one of my favorites thanks to its structured, tailored bust with contrasting swooping balloon sleeves. I love how the bottom has a true corset cut (sinched in at the sides) to really give it that old-world feel. I paired it with this Cowhide Ruched Skirt from Nasty Gal to edge up the look a bit . I think this would be a super cute duo to pair with black cowboy booties in the fall, but since it was sunny and 80° in Vieux Quebec, I opted for strappy sandals. To tie the look together, I added this super cute crossbody White Leather Purse from Amazon Fashion and some oval sunnies.
“An honest tale speeds best being plainly told.”
