JULY FAVORITES

IMG_7632.JPG

July felt like the longest month so far this year, and I’m not sure if it was because I bounced from the Adirondacks, to the city, to home in Westchester multiple times or the fact that I was lucky enough to also be recovering for a whole week from wisdom tooth surgery — which felt like it took 200 years. Needless to say even though the month is winding down, I feel pretty accomplished and rejuvenated for what’s to come later this summer and fall. All in all, this month had me reflecting a lot on time and how fast and slowly it can feel at the same time. Ahead, here’s some stuff I’ve been obsessing over this month.

Lani Strappy Back Bodycon Dress by UO — I bought this baby on a whim, and although I usually stay far far away from animal print at all times, the leopard trend has made me surrender. This super cute dress can be worn as a shirt (like I did here), or can be belted for a more day-time look or dressed up with heels for night. Super versatile and totally comfortable. I love.

Levi 501sI did this hilarious thing this month that has probably happened to many and all of you… I accidentally washed my sheets, white denim shorts and a few other white items with a red bathing suit. Needless to say, yes they turned pink, and instead of continually washing them to get out the extra dye, I just decided to splurge on a couple new buys. My white denim shorts were aging anyway, so I picked up this new pair of 501s to replace. So cute and I will definitely be getting a ton of use out of them for the next month or so.

Brynn Ruched Top by UOI had my eye on a similar top a while back from Revolve, but opted to wait it out until it went on sale and I’m not sure it ever got there, so I was super happy to find this dupe in white. The material is super malleable, pretty see through (which I totally dig for summer into fall) and I can see myself wearing it a whole lot in the coming months.

Gucci from 07? — This little Gucci babe was hiding in the back of my closet at home for years, and to be honest, my 12 year old self has never felt more present. I talked about this on IGS, but basically this was a gift to me circa 06-07 from my grandparents for a birthday (I think), and I wore it a little then, but never really took it out much. Thanks to the revival of the baby bag and my now, much more appreciative attitude toward legacy designer wear, I haven’t been able to stop carrying it everywhere. Obsessed.

Pearl Clips from Etsy I know, I know, you’ve seen these pretty much EVERYWHERE on Instagram. Funny story is I ordered these a while back from Etsy and didn’t receive them for quite some time (from a cute shop in Thailand), so I was so thrilled to get that customs-approved package once it arrived. I don’t LOVE barretts, but when I do, they’re gold and pearl and nothing in between. So cute. Also way more affordable than the packs you’d see in UO or at a store. Etsy hooked it up.

Leaving ya’ll with a nice little quote about timing to wrap up this round up.

“Life is as tedious as twice-told tale, vexing the dull ear of a drowsy man.”
