STEPHEN KING CHARM FEAT. REVOLVE

I started off this month visiting the tiny town of Silver Bay, up in Lake George (yes, my favorite summer spot on earth that I’ve been visiting every year since I was 5), and I posed the question on my Instagram: upper New York town or setting of a Stephen King novel? Not only does LG hold so much nostalgia for me, it reminds me of the rural scenery you often come across in a King book —— think, sprawling mountains over a lake, kind of like what you see in the opening shot of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. King references are pretty much everywhere these days (especially, in, I’ll argue, Stranger Things 1, 2 + 3!), but when you get to experience his type of picturesque setting IRL, it really changes the game.

My nostalgic, King sleepy summer town inspo was at the hard of this set I got a few months ago at Revolve: the Endless Summer Bella Crop Top and Zoey Short. Not only do I love that this set can be mixed and matched (with denim cutoffs, strappy solid bodysuits galore), I love how vibrant and interesting they are paired together. I paired this all together with a teeny, Gucci shoulder bag so old that I can’t find it online anymore (even though it is from circa 2007), so I linked a similar one here that I also own thanks to my grandmother. I tied up the look with simple gold jewelry, acrylic hoops and of course, some chunky platform sandals which I’ve been adoring recently. I leave you with a sleepy, nostalgic Shakes quote to think about (as per usual):

“When to the sessions of sweet silent thought I summon up remembrance of things past,

I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought, And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste…”

[Shakespeare Sonnet 30]
