When it comes to literally frozen winter novels, a few come to mind. One being? King's Misery, the wonderful tell-tale novel about the wretched Paul Sheldon and his captivity by the queen of shade (and torture) herself, Annie Wilkes. There's something (both figuratively and literally) chilling about Wilkes that just makes her arguably the ultimate (and most desperate) antagonist that the 80's horror genre has ever seen. Inspired by some major winter darkness, I started with these incredible overall jeggings I got for Christmas from good old AE. I've literally been wearing these nonstop simply because how comfortable they are — and even more so because they go with just about anything.

I paired a black scarf and beanie to keep from freezing over it — and polished off the look with one of my new favorite coats I got for Christmas as well — this Capulet Patent Leather Jacket from REVOLVE. I then added some fringe detail with this adorable Aimee Kestenberg bag and my favorite Sam Edelman booties.

"The miserable have no other medicine, but only hope."
