NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM FT. SHOP MICAS

When I think of a “night at the museum,” there’s one story that comes to mind: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. I don’t know what exactly it is about this book that stuck with me so hard, but it’s a story of two siblings who run away from their home and take refuge in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (lol). In typical child’s literature fashion, they spend the night at the museum without getting caught and solve a “mystery” having to do with a visiting Michelangelo statue. I vividly remember liking this book so much I read it multiple times, and it always made me want to spend a night in a museum too. Although I’ve never slept in a museum (probably a good thing), this night at the Gibbes Art Museum in Charleston, SC came pretty close! An old friend of mine married there, and we got to peruse one of the galleries after the ceremony. How fun!

I wore this stunning Shop Micas Metallic Cowl Neck Halter Dress. I mean, it’s as beautiful as it looks in the photos! Super comfortable too. I wanted to go with something sculptural, and with the dress code being formal, a long dress with a bit of an eye-catching hue fit the bill. Obsessed! I paired the look with these Rozi 3D Jeffrey Campbell Strappy Sandals, (here on Poshmark), and a vintage black shoulder bag I got from my mom (which actually belonged to my great-grandmother… the bag might be 80 years old but is still in great shape!). I tied it all together with some sunnies, drop pearl earrings, and a high pony. This is probably one of my favorite looks to date.

“She sat like patience on a monument, smiling at grief. Was not this love indeed?”
