VINTAGE CHRISTMAS FT. H&M

When I think of my favorite Christmas movies, A Christmas Story will always come to mind, but some underrated holiday-sque films in my opinion will always be the Rankin-Bass animated stop motions. These classic films include the OG Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Frosty The Snowman, and probably my favorite: A Year Without Santa Claus. I’m not sure if its the quintessential late 70s vibes, the snappy dialogue or the cant-get-out-of-your-head tunes, but there’s some kind of magic in them all. These movies played with a lot of colors and shapes in their puppeteering and they’re a tradition for me to watch over and over every December, so I wanted to pay homage to them with a bit of a vintage inspired Christmas look for our holiday party this year.

I started with this stunner sparkling skirt I picked up at H&M. It really gives nostalgic Christmas vibes because it catches the light so well and is reminiscent of tinsel/ holiday lights. I paired it with this fuzzy detailed top from Shop Cider (fun fact the collar is removable, so I have it removed here) because I think the textures contrasted nicely but still played well together. Finally, I wrapped the look up with red lace tights that I got from Amazon (soooo cute) and red ribbon for my hair. In my styling video for this, I actually paired the look with velvet booties (obsessed), but I swapped to these leather pointed mules which were a little more comfy walking around the apartment as I hosted!

“At Christmas I no more desire a rose. Than wish a snow in May's new-fangled mirth; But like of each thing that in season grows.”
