EARTH ANGEL FEAT. FIORUCCI
Angels can be used as a literary device that provides much comfort and protection — which is why they make a great symbol on tangible items too. That is the magic of Fiorucci, and while this isn’t a sponsored post, if you see this, Fiorucci fam, hit me up. What’s funny is there actually aren’t a ton of notable angelic characters, in fact I was browsing this list of literary angels, and most come from the TV show Supernatural (10/10) or J.J.R Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. It’s made me ponder about why this might be the case — even Shakespeare preferred fairies. Is it because writers feel like they’re too fluffy (literally and figuratively) to include, or maybe because they wouldn’t necessarily provide much besides an air of hope for a character or two? Angels aren’t three dimensional (well, unless you get into Angels and Demons and all that jazz), so maybe that’s their downfall. Either way, I’ll still highly think of them IRL (pun intended).
This outfit is everything an angel can be — it provided me much comfort, style and happiness. The adorable graphic Fiorucci Angels T-Shirt in Black makes me smile everytime I look at it, and it grounds this look perfectly. I also love that you can pair this tee with anything — jeans, a white skirt like this, even a maxi satin skirt. I paired it with this favorite new skirt from Cider — the Floral Shirred Lace Layered Mini Skirt and tied the whole look together with white high socks, AF1s, and my Gucci pochette. A dreamy look for exploring the city of Montréal on our trip this month (more to come on that, it was amazing!).
A quote from Shakes talking about a real-life angel, from none other than Romeo…
“O, speak again, bright angel, for thou art, as glorious to this night, being o'er my head, as is a winged messenger of heaven Unto the white upturned wondering eyes of mortals that fall back to gaze on him when he bestrides the lazy puffing clouds and sails upon the bosom of the air.”
