RAPHAEL'S CHERUBS FEAT. FIORUCCI
If you’ve read this blog for any amount of time, you probably get the notion that I’m obsessed with all things archaic. One genre of history I love is, of course, Renaissance art, and all that comes with getting lost in museums like the MET or the Uffizi (honorable mention, I love the Musèe D’Orsay, too). Cherub art is my favorite, one piece that I’ve never seen IRL but would love to is Raphael’s The Two Cherubs. It’s kind of a perfect not-so-serious religious artwork that humanizes angels a little more than others of its eras. It’s candid, fun and just a pleasure to look at.
One of my favorite new brands that has popped into my life (thank you Instagram) is Fiorucci, an Italian label that has a trademark set of ‘cherubs’ on their own. I love how they play with luxurious branding in streetwear form and everything they make seriously makes me smile. I picked up my very first Fiorucci sweatshirt over this past month, I went with the Angels Sweatshirt White and decided to style it here with a tie-dye black and white turtleneck from Missguided underneath. Next, I paired it with dark brown leggings from Amazon Fashion, and my Sam Edelman White Circus Boots. To tie it all together, I added this new cozy coat I got for Christmas from Free People.
An ode to the cherubs, I’m loving this snowy look!
Conveniently, Shakes has a quote that also humanizes these heavenly beings
“Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell.”
