JULY FAVORITES
Ah, the highs and lows of July. It’s been an overall good month (with the exception of tonsilitis 😁) — and probably my favorite part has been pushing my fashion and beauty boundaries a bit. That’s right, I’m talking a lot more color and Y2K swag which usually isn’t my thing. We had a sweet Fourth of July weekend where I played dress up a bit in this manner, and we even did a murder mystery 😜because it rained. Some other highlights were checking out some new hot spots in NYC like Grand Banks — thank you Bask Suncare! and Galli, where I was reunited with a bunch of old coworkers. Ahead, I’m sharing my favorite purchases, wears + things of the month!
FASHION
Tie Dye Square Neck Mini Dress by Nasty Gal — I was in search of a summer-to-fall-to-basically-any-season tie dye dress that I could layer up (on top of tees, sweaters) or layer down (wear on its own!) and I loved this pick I found on Nasty Gal. My favorite part is that yes — it’s a whopping $18.50! Sadly, it’s mostly sold out but I’d definitely keep an eye on the NG site for something similar.
ZAFUL Butterfly Bikini from Amazon Fashion — By the time you’re reading this, I’ll hopefully be lying out in the sun with this bikini! It’s from Amazon Fashion, was super affordable and really quenched my Y2K thirst, lol. I’m not one to wear butterflies of any kind (never was) but something about the colors and pattern of this one got me hooked. Too cute.
Tortoise Hoops by AllThatAndSparkles on Etsy — I love a good tortoise shell piece of jewelry, and I do have thicker tortoise hoops I got at UO a while back that I love. I wanted a bigger, thinner hoop for summer and found these cute ones. I haven’t been able to stop wearing them!
Lack of Color Juno Boater in Cream — When I tell you I’ve been eyeing this hat for months, I’m not lying (I’ve literally had it up as a tab on my phone since March). I am so happy I took the plunge and got it, because it’s well worth every penny! It’s a stunning hat — looks great on IG — and someone will have to restrain me from purchasing another come Fall.
home accessories
iPad Tablet Stand from Amazon — This tablet stand is a must-have if you like to cook. It’s kind of random, but it’s been so helpful to put my iPad on it as I’m following a recipe — you’d be surprised how annoying it is to look down while you’re trying to pour a cup of flour lol. Anyway, random, but I love it.
Wavy Wax Candle by MAUVECandleStudio on Etsy — I picked up this new wavy candle because my other one broke (sad), and I have to say I like the size and thickness of this one a lot better. I went for a neon orange just to add a fun summery pop of color to my space, and am considering getting an alternative color for fall/winter. I also gotta say — it smells so subtle, nice + sweet.
I leave you with a beautiful quote I just found from Venus and Adonis —
"Lie quietly, and hear a little more; Nay, do not struggle, for thou shalt not rise: To make thee hate the hunting of the boar, Unlike myself thou hear'st me moralize, Applying this to that, and so to so; For love can comment upon every woe."
How pretty is that one?
