JULY FAVORITES
I’ll admit it, July finally felt like a * normal * month in NY — but * normal * certainly doesn’t mean what it did months ago. This month I got to head to a few spots upstate to hang with some friends (the same friends, socially distanced + masked indoors, of course). Nevertheless, I had my first trip to Woodstock ever (it was cool, but nothing was open at that point), and I was so happy to get to spend a few days on my favorite lake in the world (besides Como lol) — Lake George. This year I think marks my eighteenth trip up there in my life (wild, right) and I’m really thrilled we made it since this summer was probably the most unpredictable one we’ve seen yet. There were a bunch of fashion items I purchased/ relied on during this trip this month, plus a very special addition to my apartment. Here we go:
fashion
Evelyn Ruched Crop Top from Storets — I was looking to get a top for my trip to the Lake that was going to be easy to throw on and pair with just about anything. Enter: this lightweight, ruched top from Storets. I love the spaghetti straps detail and princess sleeve cuffs, not to mention the ties at the bottom and the ruched parallels. Too cute, and comfy too.
Amazon Fashion ZAFUL Snakeskin Bikini — I have this really bad tendency of buying last minute bikinis of Amazon Fashion before I take any trip that requires swimming in some capacity, and this purchase was no different. I was kind of craving a neutral, yet poppy printed bikini, though, and this was the perfect one I found. 2 days and $28.99 later, I loved styling it on the lake.
Annie Color Blocked Jeans by Storets — The minute I stumbled upon these jeans from Storets I knew I had to pick them up. They have the coolest “white tie dye” effect and are perfect for transitioning into Fall type of weather. I also definitely see myself rocking them with a pair of strappy platform sandals whenever I get the opportunity to dress up in the near future (fingers crossed).
accessories + micellaneous
UO Straw Boater Hat — If you plan on boating anytime soon before summer’s out, seriously grab yourself a hat like this. Not only is it super cute — it’s perfect for blocking out the sun on your face and chest area (ideal, since no one likes a sunburned nose or neck).
Steve Madden Honey Tortoise Block Heels — Honestly, I’m amazed these aren’t totally sold out yet but they’re getting pretty close. I got these at the beginning of the month and have not had the opportunity to wear them yet (womp womp) but look forward to hopefully wearing them to a socially distanced drink or dinner soon.
LitbyLo on Etsy — Hands down the best purchase/ delivery arrival of the month is this custom neon sign by Lauren of LitbyLo on Etsy! I really wanted a neon sign to tie my living room together, but didn’t want something gaudy or 4AM taco place looking. Lauren nailed it. I chose “all the world’s a stage,” from As You Like It because it’s one of my faves and I think it suits my style, space and mantra pretty nicely. Couldn’t recommend Lauren more — she answered every question I had (as bizonk as I am), and really created such a pretty work of art.
I’ll leave you with another tidbit of wisdom from the very same play:
