NOVEMBER FAVORITES
Noveeeeember. I cannot believe this year is almost coming to a close. This has been the longest-shortest year pretty much ever, if that’s even possible. I’ve been working non-stop from my cozy little spot on the UES and spending the weekends making Sean drive over to me from Queens. Needless to say, every week feels really similar to the one before, but there’s something nice and steady about that which I appreciate. Growing up, my dad would always tell me that “boring is good.” And it wasn’t until this year, I think, that I realized what he meant. Going through the motions over and over might seem redundant and kind of blah, but in such a tumultuous year, boredom is a blessing. Here are some fun purchases (homegoods, to fashion to accessories) I’ve made this month, plus a little tour of my bathroom and beauty closet at the end which is finally pretty much DONE.
fashion
Missguided Black Tie Dye Sweatshirt + Leggings Set — Loungewear has been key for me because I really like to be comfortable when I’m working from home. I’ve been living in these leggings from Missguided and the matching sweatshirt (which I can’t seem to find on the site anymore but there are dozens of matching tops and hoodies with the same pattern). I can easily throw on a long coat and sneakers if I need to go to the store, or cozy up in these all day while I work.
ALV Jewels Mini Piper Hoops — Don’t get me wrong, I love a good Urban Outfitters jewelry find, but I also am allergic to the nickel they make their jewelry with about 80% of the time. So, I’ve been searching for affordable, nickel-free options and stumbled upon ALV on Instagram, and these were the golden ticket. I love how thick and heavy they look on the ears but they’re actually super lightweight when you wear them and they don’t irritate my skin at all.
ALV Jewels Figaro Bracelet — I couldn’t resist also picking up a bracelet, too, of course! I loved this delicate chain I found on the ALV site that’s also nickel-free and gold-plated brass. I’ve been wearing it everyday and haven’t had any eczema issues which I deal with a ton in my wrist area. I will say that the chain is a little long (I have a TINY wrist!), so I did hook it tighter to get that more snug fit. Otherwise, I LOVE!
Miscelleneous
Vintage Brass Bamboo Magazine Rack (similar here) — I picked this up from an Etsy store this month because I was dying for a place I could store magazines, papers, and random things I need to file away. I can’t find the exact one on Etsy anymore, but was able to link a similar looking one — let’s just say, I LOVE it! It’s the perfect small size, is super cool and vintage looking and will go with any type of home decor style I have so I can take it with me anywhere!
The Koop NYC Sweetener Candle — If you’re looking for the perfect fall-to-winter transition candle to sweeten your space, this is the ONE! It smells like pumpkin, sugar and nutmeg and you’ll seriously have your neighbors fooled because if they get a whiff walking by your door they’ll think you bake everyday.
Flocked Christmas Tree from Amazon — I’m usually not one to decorate early for Christmas (my mother instilled this upon me) — but I decided too this year just because I’m home every single day and wanted to warm up my space. I found this adorable flocked tree (it’s 4.5 feet) which now sits in my living room and it’s inspiring me to do some more Christmas decorating as soon as I toss out the various pumpkins I have lying about.

Sharing some pictures of my bathroom tour below! (Click on the farthest right photo to scroll through). Some highlights — the art is from Society 6, and accessories are from CB2. Everything else is well, beauty products, of course, so they’re all labeled. Shout out to Anese.co who sent me the cutest towel that now hangs on my guest rack: “that booty tho!”
+ Now I leave you with this to wrap up the month:
“Life is as tedious as twice-told tale, vexing the dull ear of a drowsy man.”

Happy WINTER! Cheers, xx A. Martine
