OCTOBER FAVORITES
Ever since I was little, Halloween was always my favorite holiday. It didn’t matter that I got gifts on Christmas, or a very large Easter basket, or even got front-front row seats to Fireworks in my cousin’s backyard on the 4th of July every year. Nope. None of them did it for me, except Halloween. I’m not sure if it was the combination of getting to dress up as my favorite character of the moment (read: 19 years later I’m still running a blog inspired by characters, if that says anything), or that I got to go out at night with my friends and run around various neighborhoods. To this day, I still taking dressing up for Halloween very seriously (scroll to the bottom for some shots of my Sarah Sanderson costume — with a devil ofc, thanks Sean), and it always makes the entire month of October feel a lot more spookier. Here’s what I’ve been LOVIN all month.
FASHION
Blush Velvet Ruched Front Milkmaid Top by Missguided — Is it crazy that I’ve only started to shop at Missguided now? Seriously, how cute is their stuff (and it’s a ton more affordable than a lot of what you’ll find on Revolve). As soon as I saw this velvet top, I knew I had to get it because 1) it perfectly fit my Sarah Sanderson costume, and 2) I actually will wear it in the world, even though it is a color that’s a bit out of the box for me. Either way, I love it. I would recommend sizing a bit down (this is a Small, and it’s a little big on my arms), but otherwise, 10/10.
Mini Polka-Dot Skirt by Zara (similar here) — I actually can’t seem to find the link for this one, but I picked up this cute mini skirt at Zara right when I got back from my trip to Europe at the end of September, and it’s been such a staple since. It goes with literally everything, from black turtlenecks, to big sweaters, bodysuits, a jean jacket, legit anything — and I can’t get enough.
ACCESSORIES
Nike Women’s AF1 — Another buy I’ve been loving from this past month is a new pair of white sneakers! I’ve been eyeing the AF1s for years (since, like middle school), and I finally got a pair. I’m going to do my best to keep these PRISTINE for as long as I can, and I can’t wait to pair them with jeans, chunky turtlenecks and long coats as the weather gets colder.
Alanna Custom Plate by Newtop Jewelry — For my 25th, I wanted to get myself something special, and I landed on this nameplate necklace from Newtop. They create literally the most beautiful nameplates and jewelry, and let me customize this in an old-english font that felt super me. I haven’t gone a day without wearing it since I got it, and would highly recommend this shop if you want a custom necklace, bracelet, ring or anything. It’s SOOO good.
Basic Witches — You didn’t think I’d let this month’s favorites fly without a little more dark magic? Adding in this really amazing self-help (ish) book that my dear friend Tembe got me for my birthday last year. It’s the cutest accessory in my room, and it also provides some pretty good tips on summoning success. So obsessed.
Here’s a little look inside our all hallow’s eve celebrations —
And with that, it’s time for November. I leave you with one of my favorite spooky Shakes’ quotes of all time.
“What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our power to account?”
