THE MAN IN THE CROWD

Some secrets do not permit themselves to be told: a little tidbit of wisdom from one of my favorite Edgar Allan Poe short stories. The Man in the Crowd revolves around Poe's narrator, essentially driving himself mad because he's so obsessed with this mysterious dude he sees around town. Legit, the entire narrative is him going back and forth about what this guy is up to: where he's going, who he's going to meet, etc. In the end, Poe presents us with the conclusion that 'some secrets do not permit themselves to be told,' aka, sometimes we must accept not knowing things about everyone. Which leads to the notion that sometimes ignorance is bliss after all. Just some food for thought that I've found valuable lately.

This past weekend I got the privilege of heading down to Washington D.C to finally visit Miss Linds! And in true 'secret' fashion, taking pictures in front of the big metal doors of a government building seemed like the way to go [insert crying/laughing emoji face]. Unfortunately we did not stumble upon any National Treasure secrets that Ben Gates would be after, so let's get to my outfit. I lucked out this weekend as it hit up to 80 (yes, you read that right, EIGHTY degrees), so I got to throw on this super cute off-the-shoulder top I got from Nasty Gal (similar here)paired with these blue Topshop jeans. I finished off the look with my favorite Adidas and some clear aviators to really nail in the 'man in the crowd' mysteriousness to the look (lollllll.)

Wanted to share some pics from my little weekend trip, and shoutout to Lindsey + Nick for making it the best time (even though I suffered a cold for the majority of it!) Scroll right to see 'em all (;
